Rank

Iman Academy Schools do not rank students. The identification of the valedictorian and salutatorian shall be based on academic excellence, GPA, AP exams passed, and SAT/ACT scores. Valedictorian and salutatorian candidates must complete at least six semesters of academic work at Iman Academy to be considered. Valedictorian and salutatorian will be announced each year in January of the graduating year.

A 30,000+ square foot facility was purchased for the expansion of Iman Academy Southwest. Iman Academy Southwest campus serves the educational needs of Houston’s Southwest end. Iman Academy Southeast campus serves the educational needs of Clear Lake’s end. Located in one of the fastest growing areas, the campus enjoys a diversified socio-economic base. The student body is culturally diverse with a population of 33% Arab, 33% Southwest Asian, and 33% other.

School
Iman Academy has two growing campuses (Southwest and Southeast). Currently, each campus consists of one high school, one middle school, and one elementary school with a 1-5, 6-8 and 9-12 grade-level configurations. Both campuses include a private licensed accredited child care facility (FAITH Childcare) on site that serves Infants through Kindergarten. Iman Academy High School is a comprehensive four year private school enrolling 80 students in grades 9 through 12. The school opened in the fall of 1996 and graduated its first senior class in the spring of 2009 and in the spring of 2014 at the Southeast campus. Both Southwest and Southeast are accredited by the AdvancedEd Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (AdvancedEd SACS CASI) and hold membership in the College Board, the National Honor Society, among others.

Curriculum
The academic program is organized on a rotating block schedule. Ten (10) credits per semester is the maximum course load; students take two 90 minute block schedules, and six 45 minute class schedule. Students attend 2 block classes and the regular class daily. Block classes are year-long; each block meets every day. Block Scheduling was instituted in 2008. We follow a semester report card system.

Dual Credit
The Iman Academy Dual Credit program enables juniors/seniors to enroll in freshman courses and earn college credits at local institutions of higher education. Iman Academy Southwest has partnered with the
Houston Community College System and Iman Academy Southeast has partnered with San Jacinto Community College to attain college credit as well as high school credit as a part of the graduation requirements.

Advanced Placement (AP)
Students are encouraged to take a rigorous course load of AP classes and we believe in AP for all. On average we have approximately 30 AP exams administered each year. We had 5 AP Scholar Honors and 15 students scoring a 3, 4, or 5 on their AP exam in 2011-2012.

AP courses are offered in English language, English Literature, U.S. History, Government (United States and
Comparative), Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art History, Economics, AP Calculus, and Psychology. AP English Language is offered in 10th grade. AP is an open enrollment program, following the methodology of AP for all.

Pre-AP classes are offered in English and Math through the College Board Spring Board program starting in 6th grade.
